Pallet racking is a storage system made of steel frames and beams that stores up to 4 tonnes of pallets per beam level, directly accessible by forklift. Compliant with EN 15512 and EN 15635, it is sized according to your pallets, building height and handling equipment. Kollirama performs the load study, supplies and installs throughout France.

How to size pallet racking?
Sizing pallet racking relies on six parameters our design office always checks:
- Pallet type and dimensions: Euro 800 × 1,200 mm, industrial 1,000 × 1,200 mm or specific
- Maximum weight of a loaded pallet, which determines the beam profile
- Usable building height and forklift lift height
- Aisle width required by the truck: 2.8 to 3.5 m for counterbalance, from 1.6 m with reach trucks
- Permissible floor load (slab) and frame base fixing
- SKU rotation: direct access to every pallet or high-density drive-in storage
Single run, back-to-back or drive-in pallet racking: which one?
| Criterion | Single run | Back-to-back | Drive-in racking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Layout | Against a wall | Central, back to back | Compact drive-through blocks |
| Pallet access | Direct, 100% of SKUs | Direct, 100% of SKUs | By lane, LIFO/FIFO |
| Storage density | Medium | Good | Very high (up to +80%) |
| SKU variety | High | High | Low (one SKU per lane) |
| Typical use | Warehouse perimeter | Warehouse core | Large homogeneous volumes, cold rooms |
