Free-standing structures (industrial mezzanines, storage platforms, walkways and carports) double a building's usable area without extension or heavy building permits. Kollirama sizes the structure to the working load (250 to 1,000 kg/m²), manufactures and installs with compliant stairs, guardrails and pallet safety gates.

| Industrial mezzanine | Free-standing floor on columns that doubles the ground area: storage, offices or workshop upstairs. Typical working load 250 to 500 kg/m², up to 1,000 kg/m² on study. |
|---|---|
| Rack-supported storage platform | Platform carried by the racking itself: the storage structure supports the upper floor, densifying picking and reserve over 2 or 3 tiers. |
| Walkways | Elevated circulation linking platforms and multi-tier picking areas, with stairs, guardrails and kick plates compliant with labor regulations. |
| Industrial carports | Metal shelters for outdoor storage of materials and vehicles, galvanized structure, steel deck roof, adaptable dimensions. |
How to calculate a mezzanine floor load?
The working load is calculated from the actual use of the floor:
- Archives and light boxes: 250 kg/m² is usually enough
- Storage on picking shelving: 350 to 500 kg/m² depending on density
- Pallets or machinery: 500 to 1,000 kg/m², with a specific study of bearing points
- Always check the permissible load of the building slab under the columns: up to several tonnes per column
- Plan the accesses: stairs, pallet safety gates for loading, conveyor openings
