Drive-in racking Storage lanes the forklift drives into to place pallets on continuous rails: maximum density, LIFO or relative FIFO management, ideal in cold rooms.
Push-back racking Up to 5 pallets deep per level on roller carts: each loaded pallet pushes back the previous ones, the last one loaded stays available at the front (LIFO), maintenance-free.
Pallet flow racking Lanes of slightly inclined roller beds: the pallet rolls by gravity towards the lane exit (FIFO), perfect for stock rotation and use-by dates.

What is the difference between drive-in and push-back racking?

Drive-in operates in LIFO: the forklift drives into the lane to place or retrieve a pallet at the back. Push-back accepts up to 5 pallets deep on roller carts; each new pallet pushes the previous ones back, keeping the front pallet always accessible. Push-back offers more flexibility when several references share the same lane.

Is high-density storage suitable for cold rooms?

Yes — it is its most common application. In a cold room, reducing the number of aisles minimizes the area to keep at temperature, which significantly cuts energy costs. Drive-in racking and pallet shuttle are particularly well suited to this use.

How do I choose between pallet flow racking and pallet shuttle?

Pallet flow racking works without power (natural incline) and suits FIFO management at moderate throughput.
